Our Breast Reconstruction Patients – Continuing to Grow and Living Life to the Fullest

At Parva Plastic Surgery our care for our breast reconstruction patients continues through surgery, treatments and the journey before them. We are committed to supporting our patients through this journey and to promoting greater public awareness of breast cancer in our community. We celebrate living; we are inspired by the day-to-day simple pleasures of life and the extraordinary moments that transform us; we are grateful for our patients and friends who share their lives and their stories so that we may all be encouraged and lifted up. You are remarkable!

Thank you,
Behzad Parva & Team

Sonya, Amazing Mom and Cure by Design model, lights up the runway

My name is Sonya. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 35 years old. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters, ages 7 and 5. When I was first diagnosed I was scared. I didn’t know what my future would hold. I had a double mastectomy and went through 4 grueling rounds of chemo. There were days where I thought I would quit. I had my good days and my bad days. Throughout this whole thing I have really tried to have a good attitude. I never once thought I wouldn’t make it through this. I always knew in my heart that this would be a hard journey, but I would come out on the other side a stronger woman. I don’t even think I knew my own strength. I’m amazed to say that now I see my breast cancer as a gift. I never want to have cancer again in my life, but I wouldn’t trade having it for anything. I see life through different eyes. I appreciate every little thing. I am so proud of myself for all I have endured and for all that I plan to do to give back. I am working with the American Cancer Society as a mentor, and about a month after my last treatment I was in a fashion show called Cure by Design. It was an amazing thing to be a part of. I plan to walk that runway every year with a smile. I am so excited about the future and about helping others get through what I went through.

Una is living life to the fullest in the fast lane!

Breast cancer was not able to slow down Una for a moment. She loves to test the limits in her red Porsche sports car.

Jillian paying it forward with gratitude!

Jillian-1On July 30, 2010, I (an apparently healthy mom of an 18 month old) found out that I had a cancerous tumor growing in my right breast. What had been the entirely unimpressive discovery of a lump during a decidedly irregular self-breast exam (after all, 29-yr-olds with no family history don’t need to worry about breast cancer) had become an unlikely find that may have saved my life. The news was in stark black and white: In my mind, I had been moved from the “healthy” group to the “cancer” group.

Not even fire can slow down Madelyn!

MadelynNo one is ever ready to hear the words, “You have cancer.” On April 27, 2012, I received the news that I had two tumors in my right breast. I researched the most experienced doctors in my area. How lucky was I that the best-of-the-best were right in my back yard. I pulled my team together—breast surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and reconstructive plastic surgeon. The plan was in place.
