Breast Revision
Patient 1
This 54 year-old Mom originally had a breast lift and augmentation with silicone gel implants 2 years earlier. She was experiencing breast pain and was unhappy with her scars and the drop in the breast position. Her breast revision involved revising the breast lift and the scars. The 300cc silicone gel implants were removed from under the breast gland and placed under the pectoralis muscle. She is now 1 year after her surgery with no breast pain and happy with the finer scars and improved appearance of the breast.
Patient 2
This 45 year-old young woman had breast augmentation 19 years earlier with silicone implants. She developed progressive firmness and pain of both breasts. At the time of her revision surgery she was found to have ruptured implants which were replaced by 375cc saline implants filled to 400cc and placed under the pectoralis major muscle. She is seen 10 months after surgery and is very happy with the softer feel and natural look of the breast. She is also free of any breast pain.
Patient 3
This 58 year-old young woman originally had breast augmentation with silicone gel implants 26 years earlier. She had one revision 3 years later on the right breast but still developed breast pain and hardness. She could not lie on her stomach because of the breast firmness and pain. Her revision required removal of the old gel implants and the surrounding scar tissue. New midrange profile 304cc silicone gel implants were placed and a breast lift was performed. She is seen 1 year after surgery.
Patient 4
This 41 year-old mother of 3 had a breast lift and augmentation with silicone gel implants in Europe 6 years earlier. Her desire was to remove the implants and to lift and reshape the breasts. She is very pleased her results 5 years after removal of the gel implants and a breast lift.
Patient 5
This 41 year-old young lady had breast augmentation 14 years earlier. This was followed by 2 other revision surgeries to treat capsular contracture. When she consulted with Dr. Parva, she had very firm implants and was experiencing breast pain. Her revision surgery involved replacement of her 280cc silicone gel implants with 375cc saline implants filled to 380cc on the right and 425cc on the left. The new implants were also placed under the pectoralis muscle to reduce the risk of recurrent scar formation. She is seen 7 years after her revision surgery and breast remain soft.
Patient 6
This 56 year-old young woman is 5'4" and 108lb. She previously had breast augmentation with silicone gel implants in 1974. She developed firm misshapen breasts with ruptured implants. Revision involved removal of the ruptured implants and silicone gel material from the subglandular position and placing new moderate plus profile 300cc silicone gel implants in the subpectoral position. She is seen 5 years post-op and very happy with the natural shape and soft feel of her breasts.
Patient 7
This 58 year-old young Mom is 5'3" and weighs 112 lb. Originally she had a subpectoral breast augmentation with silicone gel implants 19 years earlier. She was experiencing breast pain due to capsular contraction and was unhappy with the hardening around the implants. Her breast revision involved a capsulectomy and secondary augmentation with midrange profile 339cc silicone gel implants placed subpectoral. She is now 3 months after her surgery with no breast pain and happy with her results and she is now wearing a 34D bra.
Patient 8
This patient is a 50 year-old young woman, 5'5" and 125 lb. She presented with pain and tightening around her silicone gel breast implants from a subglandular breast augmentation 25 years earlier. Her revision surgery included removing the aged implants and replacing them with midrange profile 421cc silicone implants changed to the subpectoral position. She is now 15 months after surgery and is able to resume her active life-style.
Patient 9
This dynamic 60 year-old young woman originally had breast augmentation with silicone gel implants in 1973. She developed breast firmness followed by pain in her left breast. Capsular contracture and implant rupture was confirmed through mammogram. Her revision required removal of the old silicone gel implants and the surrounding scar tissue. New midrange profile 339cc silicone gel implants were placed and a breast lift was performed. She is seen 6 months post op, pain free and amazed at her rejuvenated results.
